How the platform works for lawyers
What is AdvoAssist for lawyers?
AdvoAssist connects specialists with prospective clients, hosts professional profiles and provides tools for managing clients, cases, documents, tasks and payments.
Am I an employee of AdvoAssist?
Specialists operate as independent professionals, not employees, unless a separate written agreement expressly states otherwise. Your rights and responsibilities are governed by your specialist agreement and applicable law.
Do all specialist accounts have the same features?
No. Account functionality may depend on licence type, professional role and access level. Available features are determined by the platform and the permissions applicable to your account.
Registration and profile verification
How do I join?
Complete the specialist application and agreement, provide the required licence and professional information, and submit your profile for review.
What do I need to provide?
You may be asked for qualifications, licence and registration details, specializations, languages, experience and, where applicable, insurance and firm details.
Will clients see my real name?
The public profile may display the Public Nickname you choose together with your professional profile information. Check your specialist agreement and privacy settings for details about which personal and professional details remain private and when disclosure may be legally required.
What does “Verified” mean next to my specialization or education?
It means the team has reviewed the supporting evidence submitted for that item. This is an administrative verification and is not a legal warranty or guarantee of professional qualifications.
Receiving clients and cases
How does AdvoAssist help me get clients?
Your profile and specialization can help connect you with relevant client requests. The platform also provides booking and payment workflows for supported services.
Do I need to spend money on marketing?
You can use the platform to present your profile to prospective clients without arranging your own advertising through AdvoAssist. Any optional paid promotional services and their prices are subject to the terms shown for those services.
What do clients cost me to acquire?
Any platform fees, commissions or other charges applicable to your work are set out in your specialist agreement and the deal details. Review those terms before accepting work.
Can I choose which cases I take?
You can accept or decline requests in accordance with your professional obligations, licence scope, availability and specialist agreement. Only accept matters you are qualified and permitted to handle.
Can I work flexibly?
Your availability and the services you offer depend on your own practice and the platform’s service settings. Keep your profile and availability information accurate.
Do clients trust the platform’s specialists?
The platform’s onboarding checks and public profile information may help clients assess specialists. They do not guarantee that a client will choose you or that a matter will have a particular outcome.
What if a request creates a conflict of interest for me?
Carry out your own conflict-of-interest check before accepting a request. If a conflict exists or you cannot act, decline the matter and notify AdvoAssist as required by your agreement.
Managing cases
Can I delegate client updates to AdvoAssist?
Available case-management support depends on the service and your agreement. You remain responsible for meeting your professional duties and ensuring that clients receive any information required of you.
Does AdvoAssist help me during a consultation?
Support tools and assistance may be available for eligible services. Check the features available to your account and the terms of the relevant service.
Can I bring in extra help for a specific case?
Any delegation or engagement of additional personnel must comply with your professional obligations, confidentiality requirements, applicable law and your specialist agreement. Confirm the permitted process with AdvoAssist before providing access to a case.
Documents
Which client documents can I see?
You can access documents the client has explicitly shared with you for the relevant case, subject to platform permissions. You do not automatically receive access to the client’s entire personal archive or documents shared with another specialist for a different matter.
What about a document attached to a Quotation Request?
Access to documents attached to a Quotation Request is limited according to the quotation workflow and applicable platform terms. Use those documents only to assess the request and prepare your proposal, and do not retain or use them for unrelated purposes.
Payments and payouts
How do I get paid, and what are the commission and tax terms?
Your fee, any platform charges and payout arrangements are governed by your specialist agreement and the terms for each deal. Review those terms before accepting work. You remain responsible for your own tax, VAT registration and invoicing obligations as required by applicable law.
Specialist requirements
What do I need to offer services on AdvoAssist?
You need a valid licence or other authorisation required for the services you provide, along with a completed specialist agreement and profile. You must only accept work you are qualified and legally permitted to perform.
What’s expected of me once I’m active on the platform?
Keep your profile and availability accurate, respond to accepted requests, deliver the agreed work professionally, protect client confidentiality and follow your specialist agreement and applicable professional rules.
Can I take a client relationship off the platform?
Follow the terms of your specialist agreement regarding clients introduced through AdvoAssist, off-platform engagements and exchanging contact details. Breaches may have consequences under that agreement.
